After having long hair for a number of years, I recently got it all cut off and it was back to going to the barber every week to get a “number 1 all over”. So, I decided I could do it just as well as him and wanted to get a clipper set to prove it. I got this one. And, let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Popped on the #1 blade that comes with it, and a few minutes later…voila! No more barber! I like the finisher, too. Actually, now i do the finishing first and then clip my hair - it’s a little easier to see the edges. Also, heed one of the other reviewer’s comments about the size of the clipper - it’s a pretty big thing. So, if you’re not a big guy like me it might be a little unwieldy. All around great buy, well worth the money!

The Oster Clippper 76 (the big one) is worth it! But wasn’t a fan of the finish trimmers (small one) it pulls my hair. If I had to buy this again I’d buy the Oster Clipper 76 and just but the 00000 attachment.

These clippers are awesome. I am in the military and my wife went to hair school so I have been getting my hair cut at home for some time. The cippers she previously used did not cut as short as I liked and occasionaly “pulled” which was very uncomfortable. I ordered many different blades for the 76 (including 000000…I actually don’t recall how many zero’s, LOL) and this clipper cuts smoothly, comfortably, and CLOSE!! Awesome clippers that I would highly recommend to any one. Also, the blades change out very easy.

Owning the Oster Classic 76 is almost like having my own barber shop at home. I’ve owned various hair clippers in the past but I was always disappointed at how underpowered they were and the uneveness of the cut. Perhaps it was also due to the fact that I have thick hair. This Oster Classic 76 gives me a great haircut with no effort. I wear a hard hat at work everyday so I try to keep my hair cut short to avoid the dreaded and embarrasing “Helmet Head”. I prefer to have #1 on the sides and #2 on top. With the other hair clippers I’ve owned in the past, I always had to have my wife cut my hair because she would have to keep making pass after pass after pass in the same area to make sure all the hairs got cut because the clippers worked so inefficiently. Plus, I would always have to wait around for my wife until she was good & ready to come outside & cut my hair. With the Oster Classic 76 I sit on a stool in the backyard, bend forward, and cut my hair on my own schedule. Takes me only about three minutes to cut my hair now including a blade change. These Oster clippers have all the power needed not to bog down or pull on your hair. Those other clippers with the plastic length guides just don’t cut the mustard with me. Do yourself a favor and purchase this quality clipper and avoid the frustrations of using a cheaper clipper.

Powerhouse, Heavy and not justified for the home trimmer! Motor cooling vents are near top so if you are a self trimmer you will have your hand wrapped around the hot vents!
It’s heavy The directions are very Simple and Leave you confused about how to swap the Blades! If you need to change them just pull the old ones away from Trimmer until the spring snaps open, then it’s simple no tools needed. Definitely a real machine and No wonder it is the standard for professionals! I don’t mind overkill for the homeowner but I may switch back to the Cordless remington some day for the light easy self trim. Want the best buy one of these but It may not work as well for the non pro and self trimmer! They are heavy and run hot. I would not return them Because I can tell they are well made and very powerful! Maybe I’ll just get used to the weight, Cord and heat!

After using the cheap clippers from the local drug store, not to mention having to buy new ones every year, I finally broke down and spent the money on some real clippers. It now takes me half the time to shave my head and it never misses a hair. They’re a little on the heavy side, but you can tell these clippers are built with incredible quality.
