Wahl Peanut Shaped Professional Clipper / Trimmer with 4 Cutting Guides (Model# 8655) Color: BLACK Price

Wahl Peanut Shaped Professional Clipper / Trimmer with 4 Cutting Guides (Model# 8655) Color: BLACK Great Price
I was introduced to the Wahl Peanut line last year, when a friend lent me an older version of this shaver. It was a very good shaver, and so two months ago I bought this version.

I am very pleased with the purchase. My facial hair grows in a rather convoluted direction field, including a cowlick on my neck, and the shaver has no real problems shaving any of it. Keep in mind however that it is still an electric shaver, and it will only take you down to a very thin stubble, not as close as a cutthroat/safety razor can get. I chose to give this four stars because my particular model seems to give a less close shave than my friend’s model.

The cutting guides are really fantastic however. They allow me to keep my beard without it getting long and unruly, which happens rather quickly in my case.

As previously stated, I have only owned it for a couple of months, so I cannot say anything about its longevity, but at this time I have only minor complaints. All in all it is a very solid product, so far.

Great Little Trimmer - Kelvin M. Pillow - Alexandria, VA USA
I really like my Peanut trimmer. It is powerful, far better than battery powered trimmers. It’s compact and light weight. So, it’s easy to trim behind ears and to trim your mustache or goatee. My only complaint is that the attachments do not include a 1/16″ and blending guide. I tend to trim my beard closer than the smallest guide provided which appears to be 1/8″. So, I still have to use my full size clippers to do a full trim down to the level I prefer.

Excellent clippers, small, lightweight, the best that I have used - Cute Chihuahua - Orient, OH USA
I have tried at least ten different pairs of clippers over the years and the Wahl Peanut is without a doubt the best for short haircuts. It’s very small and lightweight yet it has more power than most of the other full size clippers that I have used in the past. The shape and size of it makes it really easy and quick to use because it fits nicely in the palm of your hand and it’s not awkward to hold. It cuts very well for short haircuts but I am not sure it would be the best for longer and thicker hair because it’s so small. It comes included with clipper oil, blade guard, brush and 4 cutting guides. I do wish that it come included with a case of some sort but that’s not a huge deal. Another very nice thing about these clippers is that the blades are removable and replaceable so if the blades get dull then you can just replace the blades.

Geat little trimmer - JOHNNYP - ILLINOIS
The trimmer is great. It cut my hair close to my skin. It is exactly what I was looking for in a hair trimmer. The price was right too.

Andis 22315BGC2 Excel 2-Speed Professional Clipper Price

Andis 22315BGC2 Excel 2 Speed Professional Clipper Review
I did weeks worth of research looking for good quality professional grade hair clippers. After over looking Andis Brand (at first) I was dead set of the Oster 76 classics. But their price, noise level, and potential heavy weight turned me off. Local beauty stores (including sally’s) charges over $XXX for them.

Andis has a large blade selection and most amazon sellers have them for very cheap (under in most cases) and that makes for reasonable priced replacements.

After using my Wahl’s Designers w/ comb attachments for the past few years I regret not researching professional clippers sooner.

There is NO COMPARISON to using magnetic clippers w/ comb attachments versus using rotary clippers w/ detachable blades!

My first cut with these clippers took a little over 15minutes and was perfectly evenly. I bought ceramic edge blade and an ultra edge blade to see if the ceramic stays cooler longer (havent tried them yet) but the ultra (steel) blade got warm while using but not hot!

The clippers themselves got warm but not hot! My Wahls got so hot i had to run water over (not safe or recommended…lol) to cool them off…I was going for a low cut and it took an hour–clippers cut unevenly w.o. comb attachments too!!!

BOTTOM LINE: If you want an even cut thats fast quick and cheap, look at buying andis brand clippers (rotary only) and Andis brand ceramic or ultra-edge blade set and you wont for wrong!

p.s.
These are two speed clippers and with my hair being fine i prefer using the top speed so i know i’m getting full power, but its a matter of personal preference.

andis clipper operation - barberclipper - largo,florida

Cuts hair without any problems - J. Finger - Raleigh, NC
My decision to go with Andis was primarily because of this:
[...]

Which is titled “Slim talks about clippers”

Watch it and you will see an Oster Classic 76 and why I did not want one….. The noise!

I am fully satisfied with the Andis Clippers I purchased and fully recomend them to anyone serious about cutting their own hair. The clippers feel good in my hand and it appears to be built well. For those of you who like bald or almost bald, consider the #00000 blade. It seems to cut almost as close as a razor without all the irritation a straight blade would bring.

My clipper of choice - New England Yankee - Northern New England
I’ve owned a variety of clippers from both Andis and Oster, and this is my favorite - as well as the one I use on my own head! (I still also own an Andis single speed for dog grooming as well.) It takes standard, replaceable blades (same type as Oster), though I prefer Andis’ own Ultra Edge blades. It is much quieter than the Oster clippers and fits my hand better. The case on the Andis is sealed. In practice it does not seem to run any hotter than the Oster clippers and, of course, you don’t have any worry about getting clipper cleaner or hair into the motor.

The clipper comes with a 000 blade, which fits the included snap-on combs. The 000 blade is sized to take standard combs. The remainder of the blade line is physically larger - you’ll find them more convenient for everyday use, quite honestly. Combs are best relegated to filling in for blades you don’t own.

The 2 speed feature is a nice-to-have. I don’t find that I use it much, though.

If you are new to clippers and wondering why these (and the equivalent Osters) are so much more expensive, the major difference is the motors. Top of the line clippers use pivot motors - motors that have a physical mechanism to move the blade from side-to-side. Pivot motors are stronger and will cut wet hair effortlessly. Cheaper clippers use magnetic motors, basically that “shake” the blade back and forth by using magnets, and they bog down too easily. The really cheap clippers also typically have horrible blades.

Oster Professional 76023 510 Fast Feed Clipper with Adjustable Blade Review
First of all, let me say that the experience of making a purchase on Amazon.com was both pleasant and easy. I had come to the conclusion that I was tired and frustrated over the time spent waiting on a haircut at barber shops and also the rising pricesOster Professional 76023-510 Fast Feed Clipper with Adjustable Blade. I know a couple of friends who cut their own hair, so I started to research which would be the best clippers for a beginner to buy. After deciding to go with the Oster Professional 76023-510 Fast Feed Clipper with Adjustable Blade, I found that by far, Amazon.com offered the best price for them and still with full manfacturer’s warranty. My first haircut with them (performed by my wife), rivals any cut I had ever gotten from a barber shop…..for FREE. I rate them as a very good buy.

Awesome! - David Demchenkov - Tacoma, WA USA
It came faster than expected and even though the tracking system seemed wierd it came before estimated time.
Everything works great!

Good for Basic Use - CJ - Westminster, CA United States
I purchased this along with attachment kit several months ago. One thing you can’t really tell by the picture is that it’s very heavy and hard to maneuver even for most guys. It seems to be best suited for basic use, like giving someone a buzz cut. However, as a detailer, it’s too wide to get around the ears. Also, the combs don’t do a very good job. Even if you use all the attachments, it’s not easy to get an even cut with this. If I could make another purchase, I would most likely go with the classic trimmer.

Noisy and doesn’t trim cleanly - K. Yang -
I must say I am disappointed with this trimmer. It is very noisy with a strange vibration. I have used Oster trimmers before and the vibration is definitely unusual. Plus, it does not trim the sideburns all that well, missing some hairs - so I have to go over it with a shaver.
